What our patients and their families are saying
The instance you walk into Maywood Center you feel a sense of relief. It was very nice and very calming for my mother. She was brought up to a beautiful room and she had a lovely roommate. The staff and everyone else made her feel wonderful. It was an incredible experience.
After seeing several other nursing facilities, Maywood was far superior in appearance, cleanliness and had a caring and friendly staff. The third floor staff (Mercy, Melodia, Carol, Letecia, and Deon) all took excellent care of my mother during her time here right up until the end. The premises were always clean and smelled fresh and the staff always kept me informed about my mother’s health. Everyone went above and beyond for her.
Thank you so much for your rehab at Maywood Center for Health & Rehabilitation. When I arrived there, I could not walk at all from a fall. Thank you and your rehab people like Chico, Erica and Julie who helped me – mainly Chico. The food is good and when I didn’t like what they gave me, they made me something I liked. They have many activities at Maywood Center and a TV in each room that I can enjoy. The nurses made up my pills daily and were a great help to each patient there. I would recommend any person to stay at Maywood. The rooms are pleasant and so is the help. Thank you so much.
My experience at the Maywood Center was a very good one. I was treated like family and felt very welcomed. The staff is very professional and always willing to help. I would like to thank Sharon and Roy from the kitchen, Jessica from Physical Therapy and from nursing, Ivette and Lillian, for going above and beyond and making my stay at Maywood a great one.
I chose Maywood Center for Health & Rehabilitation because my cardio doctor recommended it to me. I had a very nice experience here. All the staff helped to make my stay as best as possible. In particular, I would like to recognize Julissa from admissions, Edith from the activities department, my physical therapists Iesha and Karen, my nurse Elizabeth, and Roy, the cook.
Maywood was friendly and clean and just about every staff member was good. I recently came back to visit a neighbor and many people remember me. It’s like coming home!
To the Staff of Maywood Center for Health & Rehabilitation: Our family wants to thank you for your care, support and expertise. Your dedication has been appreciated beyond words and we are blessed to have reached this day. Thank you all!
It was with great pleasure that I recommend Maywood Center for Health and Rehabilitation. I cannot thank you enough for the way in which you cared for my mother on her recent stay. Maywood Rehab provides a very caring environment with such impeccable high standards of care from the admissions (Julissa) to the nursing staff (Cheryl, Michelle, Pearl, and Eduardo). I would also like to thank Edith who always makes sure mom is included in all the activities and of course Georgeann in Social Services who is always on top of things. Thank you everyone for the wonderful work you do. It is indeed a special place. It makes me feel confident that my mom is in good hands. I would highly recommend Maywood Center to any person who is thinking about placing their parent in a Rehab Facility or Nursing Home. Your mind will be at ease.
When I met Julissa Davila, she recommended that I bring my father-in-law, Frank Scelfo, to Maywood Center for Health & Rehabilitation for rehab. The entire staff stood out to me. They were very caring, and took great care of my father-in-law.
My husband and I chose Maywood because we were referred by friends and because of the location. My husband’s initial stay was very positive. The staff was wonderful and everyone was attentive and friendly. He returned for two more stays and I feel he is safe and well cared for at the facility.
The Maywood Health Center in Maywood, New Jersey should be your first choice for rehabilitative care. As a doctor, retired veteran and dental professor, I am well aware of the complexities associated with today's healthcare system. Working as a healthcare provider, I know that quality healthcare can only occur when there is a team effort between the doctors, nurses, staff and patient. Many years ago, I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis affecting every joint in my body. In the last two years, this doctor, who normally treats patients, actually became the patient. I had to undergo three, yes three, major surgeries: two back surgeries with metal implants and a total knee replacement. As a patient, preparing for surgery, I searched for highly skilled surgeons who could provide me with a positive outcome. However, I soon realized that in order to obtain a positive outcome, the quality of my rehabilitative care must be factored into the equation. In these hard economic times, it is unfortunate that most patients attempt to defray the cost of healthcare by placing the burden for rehabilitation on family members. That decision could prove to be very problematic. When considering your rehabilitative care, the first question you should ask is whether or not the family member has the expertise to take care of you 24 hours a day for "X" number of days? As for me, my three and one-half week stay at the Maywood Health Center proved to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. The doctors, nurses and staff at Maywood treated me with respect and provided me with the medical, physical, and occupational care that I needed. The Maywood Center took care of me so that I could return to work and continue to take care of my patients. Thank you Maywood Center for Health & Rehabilitation for a job well done!
